How to Get to Buzios???

If your schedule in Rio allows you to go a little further you must get to know Búzios. It is a small paradise just a couple of hour away from Rio.

Buzios is one of those places that you just fall in love for. It is the perfect mix between incredible beaches, great hotels, excellent restaurants, great bars and night life... and the best part is... the sun shines almost all over the year.

The best thing is that is a kind of place for all budgets, you don't need to have deep pockets to have a really great time in Buzios (it helps, though!)

Let the video speak of it self...

But... how you get there?

Leaving from Rio:

- By Bus: ( Bus Company Viação 1001)
There are buses leaving Novo Rio Bus Station every 2hours; 6am,8am,10am,12pm,2pm,4pm,6pm,8pm
The tickets costs around: R$ 30-R$40
You can buy that online on your credit card on its website in English

There is a bus that take you from Rio de Janeiro International Airport to Novo Rio Bus Station - you take it just outside the airport - Bus Line 2018 for just R$6,50

- By Air:
TEAM Airline offers charter flight leaving from Santos Dumont Airport on Fridays and Sundays.

The city of Buzios has a great website where you can choose between many options where to stay, eat, shop and visit.

Some tips from us:

In Buzios is easier to get transportation during the day, so we advise you to stay close to the town center called "Armação de Búzios" - (where the "Rock's Street" is) - this way you can enjoy the night and walk home.

How to get to Sugar Loaf?

It is very easy and safe get to Sugar Loaf without a taxi.

Buy the subway ticket "Expresso" ( Subway + Bus) in any subway station ( R$3,80).

Take the subway to Botafogo Station, when you leave the station choose the "Saída Rua Nelson Mandela" exit. Take the bus 511A that will be parked just outside the subway station.

The bus is just like that and it will be "511A Urca" written on it. Use the same ticket that you just used at the subway, the buses leave avery 30 min.

After about 10-12min the bus will get to Av. Pasteur, you have to leave the bus after the Medicine College (big building with lions statues by the stairs) and you walk about 3 min in the same direction until you see a big square and the Sugar Loaf.

To come back take the same bus at the same stop until the subway. It is very easy and cheap.

Special Tip: If you go on a clear day go by the end of the day to see the sunset from up there. It is amazing!!!

Kids from 6 to 12 anos R$ 22,00

Centro Cultural Carioca

Centro Cultural Carioca (Carioca Cultural Center) is located on Praça Tiradentes (Tiradentes Square) close to the Teatro Carlos Gomes.

CCC is a great place to listen some good brasilian music (not only samba, but most of it) played by well known names in town and the best of the new "harvest" of brasilian music.

The 19th century building creates a great ambience, taking you back in time to the root of the carioca culture, experiencing: music, visual arts and dance.

If you are staying for a little longer in Rio or living here, CCC has dancing lessons. They have different kinds of classes: zouk, gafieira (samba danced with a couple), cuban salsa and
special classes for men and weman to teach "samba no pé" (fast samba as you see on carnaval - by yourself).

Even if your passing through Rio I would suggest you to take at least one class. It is a great opportunity to get in touch with the local culture and meet some new people.

CCC is more like a local´s place, not a tourists type like Carioca da Gema.
It may not be at your tourist guide but is a very nice place to go.

On this Saturday CCC presents:

Sururu Na Roda - very nice sambra group, with great vocal arrangements.
